ABSTRACT
The seasonal succession pattern of the main cladoceran community found in Lake Ikeda was investigated over a one-year period. The monthly occurrences of the cladoceran species studied were that of Bosmina longirostris, Ceriodaphnia reticulata, Diaphanosoma brachyurum and Bosminopsis deitersi. All the cladoceran species sampled exhibited varying rates of succession with seasonal variance in occurrence and peak abundance among them. Most of the cladocerar population peaked in the summer months although not at the same time. Bosmina longirostris was found to be the mosl dominant cladoceran species inhabiting this lake during summer.
